Malaysia-based gaming giant Genting has revealed it is intending to invest further in the US market, having completed various successful ventures in the UK.

Chief executive of the organisation Lim Kok Thay stated that the company will explore any opportunities that could become profitable, the Wall Street Journal reports.

Head of strategic investments at the firm Justin Leong said it will be considering a number of options to expand its operations in the west.

"We are already the largest operator in the UK and so it makes sense for us to focus our expansion efforts in the US," he commented.

Genting has been involved in the British gaming sector since 1976 and currently operates 40 casinos in the country.

It comes as the enterprise hopes to open its gambling outlet at the Resorts World development in Singapore.

While the hotel is ready for business, the casino has been stalled as the company awaits a gaming licence from the government
